Sunday Worship Services

Monaghan has two traditional worship services that are held at 8:00 and 10:30 am.  The 8 am is a smaller more intimate gathering for worship, whereas the 10:30 service includes a time for children and often times special music, led by our children, adult choir, handbell choir.

Summer Worship

From Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, we have one Summer worship service at 9 am. There are no Sunday School classes in the summer.

Special Services

Occasionally we bring the whole church family together for a combined service for special services, like our music celebration Sunday in May, these dates can be found on the church calendar. This one service takes place at 10:30.

 Communion

The sacrament of Communion is an important part of worship, we invite all to join us at table as we partake. We use grape juice and bread, there are also individually wrapped gluten free communion wafers on each tray. Typically communion is the 2nd Sunday of the month.

SPECIAL WORSHIP SERVICES

Ash Wednesday, 7 pm marks the beginning of Lent.  This service includes the imposition of ashes, and the reminder that from dust we have come and to dust we shall return.

Maundy Thursday, 7 pm the sacrament of the Lord's supper is celebrated.

Good Friday, 7 pm the service includes the chancel being stripped of all symbols to remind us the seeming end of our Lord's life.

Easter Sunday there are three services beginning with 6:00 sunrise, 8:00 and 10:30 am.  The 6:00 service is held outside at the three crosses on the hill of our property.  Breakfast is served in the narthex following this service.  Communion is served at all services.

Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 there are candle lighting services beginning with a 5 pm children's service, and two traditional lesson and carol services at 7 and 9 pm.

There are many opportunities to serve in worship.
